Papa's Barn, a family business, was founded in 1976 in Fayetteville, North Carolina and is still owned and , operated by the same family. Yes we have computers and we have computerized milling machines but we also have an anvil and hammer.

We started out rummaging through old barns ( thus our name ) in historical Eastern North Carolina and eventually found our way to the Mountains of Tennessee and north into West Virginia and Pennsylvania and south to Savannah, Georgia. It did not take long to discover that there were not enough antique beds to go around so along came the reproductions. We spent several years looking for the most authentic Victorian bed replicas available and I believe we have found them.

Our family has always had an interest in history, especially the Victorian Period. We have, in the last 35 years, been involved in various antique associations and clubs and at present Papa's Barn sponsors the "Duryea Automobile" web site, a non commercial historical site dedicated to the restoration and preservation of the 3-cylinder Duryea Automobiles ( 1898 to 1907 ). You are welcome to visit this site if you like Click Here . The first Duryea (1892-1893) has 1-cylinder and is currently on display at the Smithsonian.
